What I accomplished in my last term
It has been my honor and privilege to have served as your 2nd District Councilman for the City of Port Wentworth. In my short time on council we have achieved a great many things including:
Voting to lower city property taxes for all Port Wentworth citizens
Voting to move City Hall to the North side of town while still providing services for the downtown citizens
Instrumental in the architecture of the 2nd floor council chambers.
Reviewing the contract of a vendor and discovering that the city had never received a performance bond from the vendor. This led for me to request a review of all vendor
contracts to ensure compliance.
Voting to provide a healthcare plan that raises benefits for city employees and their families while lowering costs
Led the drive to have ALL MEETINGS livestreamed for everyone to view over the internet (with the exception of Executive Session) at the new City Hall.
Community Members I’ve met with
On this journey, I had the opportunity to meet and help our friends and neighbors by:
Meeting with a local family to address their concerns over the high speeds some drivers use on Lake Shore Boulevard and their special needs child at play.
Also having the ability to address the speeding issue on Sandy Point Way by having a speed bump installed after learning that was an issue with speeding drivers on that street.
Meeting with local community members on a Friday evening working to address their concerns over commercial trucks on Pleasant Drive.
Meeting with the community to address his concerns over the possible destruction of the wooded area to pave the way for the Rice Hope Expansion.
Being responsive to concerned citizens over the proposed Greenland rezoning on Hendley Drive.
βIt’s not about me and it’s not about my opponent. It’s about you and where you want this city to be in the next 50 years.β
